Darren’s recent hotel experience includes a successful tenure at the UK’s largest conference hotel operator as Operations Director, followed by Managing Director of Development. Darren created traction and grew the portfolio through managed contracts and franchise agreements. These managed contracts included universities, and both private and charity owners; all of whom grew their returns by virtue of entering these agreements. Prior to this role, Darren was the Operations Director for Thistles Hotels. This built on his experience he gained at MacDonald Hotels in a regional general managers role.
Ben has extensive experience in hotel and leisure sales roles as Account Director, Business Director and Resort Sales Director. As Sales Director, he drives and coaches his sales teams to successfully outperform budgets.
Ben has spent the last three years working in the managed hotels and franchise industry. This has provided him with the opportunity to value sales from an owner’s perspective focusing on ROI and EBITDA performance.
Sarahs recent hotel experience includes a successful 12 year tenure at the UK’s largest conference hotel operator lastly as Regional Operations Director for 6 years. Responsible for 17 properties across the UK £78M turnover in both the owned and Management Contract and Franchise portfolio Development. These managed contracts included University, Large event space, Charity Owners and Football Stadium; all of whom grew their returns by virtue of entering these agreements.
Prior to this role at De Vere Sarah has held various General Manager roles in multi faceted corporate, leisure and sporting biased hotels all with revenues of £10m plus again for both private and corporate owners for De Vere Hotels, Hilton and MacDonald hotels.
Having commenced a career in industry, he has been both Managing Director and Finacial Director at several companies, having extensive operational experience and skills.
With a range of experience within reactive sales office function across brands such as Thistle & Guoman, De Vere Venues and Hilton. Having spent 7 years with De Vere within the London Cluster Sales Office, four of these as the Sales Office Manager overseeing the enquiry handling and conversion for five sites across the capital.
Neil then took on the position as part of the new opening team for the Hilton London Bankside which opened in October of 2015, implementing the reactive and planning function and establishing itself in a very competitive London market.
He has a wealth of experience as an Operator, a Client Account Director, and in recent years, contracting corporate clients and managed contracts. This experience has been gained within the corporately focused hotel sector, mainly at conference venues.
Experience has followed Neil to enhance his project and development skills alongside other industry professionals and deliver leading new build and redevelopment facilities for corporate clients.
Barry has worked with a range of companies from individual hotel operators to large national and international chains operating in both the UK and Europe. He strives for process improvement and constantly seeks ways to strategically improve the business. With his experience of over 25 years in the hospitality finance sector, he has applied his expertise at all levels of operations from day to day on site duties, to regional and group finance functions.
Barry has most recently been based in regional roles with the Principal Hayley Hotel Group and formerly for the De Vere Venues Group as part of their senior management team. Prior to this, Barry worked for De Vere plc as Regional Finance & Group Office Accountant with a focus of operational controls and Balance Sheet reconciliations.
Barry has a strong knowledge of both cash and accrual accounting systems, and has experience in all aspects of financial forecasting, system management, funding, accounting and control including business planning and budgets. Barry has worked with multiple types of owners over the years from private owners to Educational bodies and Charities as well as large Corporate Entities.
