At the beginning of September Countrywide Hotels, Managing Director, Darren Patt and his team took their hotel managers on a trip to visit the family run Albarino vineyard; Bodegas Castro Martin, in north west Spain.
The visit was a chance for the managers and Countrywide Hotels team to get together in a relaxed setting and learn more about Albarino; one of the most distinct white wine grapes in Spain.
The team met with Angela who is now in charge of the family operation and winemaker at the estate and her husband Andrew, who assists her and looks after the marketing of the business. They explained more about the vineyard and what it really takes to make a great Albarino wine.
