Global award for Countrywide's Hotels

A number of Countrywide's hotels have won the 2021 Travellers Choice Award – an accolade given to only the top 10% of hotels worldwide.

These include three in the north of England - The Bridge Hotel and Spa in Wetherby, The Crab Manor Hotel in Thirsk and Hallgarth The Manor House in Durham. The Tripadvisor award is given for consistently delivering fantastic experiences to travellers.

Managing Director of Countrywide Hotels Darren Patt is delighted that the hotels have been acknowledged in this way, particularly during such difficult times.

"As a hotel management company we know how important awards like this are to staff and a hotel’s reputation. I'm so pleased to see their hard work has been rewarded in this way."

The Bridge Hotel & Spa in Wetherby gives guests a great Yorkshire welcome

According to Bridge Hotel and Spa General Manager John Gascoyne, staff went out of their way to look after guests during lockdown. “We pride ourselves on giving our guests a great Yorkshire welcome and a home from home experience.

“The hotel is now looking forward to a bumper year and being a community hub once again – with local clubs all re-booking their regular lunches and the spa fully booked until June.”

The Crab Manor Hotel wins the award for the tenth year running, a record General Manager Scott Davidson and his team works hard to maintain.

“Crab Manor has always been synonymous with high standards - from our individually decorated rooms reflecting iconic destinations around the world to our award winning seafood restaurant. It’s thanks to all the staff at the hotel that we’ve received this award again."

Nikki Watson General Manager of Hallgarth Manor Hotel also has high praise for her team.

“I’m so proud of the staff here, who worked so hard during the stressful lockdown period with grace, dignity and a smile,” says Nikki, who thinks things are going to be ‘crazy busy’ now that restrictions are lifting.

“We’ve got 64 weddings booked for the rest of the year and we’re doubly proud to be welcoming people back inside because lockdown gave us an opportunity to make sure everything is in top notch condition. Guests are already saying it’s looking the best it’s ever looked.”
