MOOD BOOSTING SMOOTHIES
It's mental Health Awareness Week from 10th - 16th May, so why not try a mood boosting smoothie packed with fruit and vegetables.
Kale and Pineapple Smoothie
An easy starter smoothie
4 cups kale
1 cup frozen pineapple
1 cup water
To make it sweeter throw in another cup of either pineapple or strawberries
Spinach Banana Smoothie
Another easy smoothie. If you buy a bunch of bananas, peel them, cut them up, and freeze them, the frozen fruit tastes better in the smoothies.
4 cups baby spinach
2 frozen bananas
1 cup water
To make it sweeter add a cup of strawberries or pineapple
Swiss Chard Strawberry Smoothie
Swiss chard tastes good in a smoothie and it’s incredibly nutritious. The colour isn’t appealing, just imagine that it's chocolate.
4 cups chopped Swiss chard
1 cup frozen strawberries
½ cup frozen blueberries
1 cup water
Spinach Cocoa Smoothie
Spinach is a wonder food, but did you know that just one tablespoon of unsweetened cocoa powder contains 3-9% of the recommended daily intake of essential minerals like iron, manganese, magnesium, and zinc.
4 cups baby spinach
2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
1 cup water
2 frozen bananas
Mood Boosting Green Smoothie
A simple and avocado mood-boosting smoothie
1 ½ cups fresh spinach
1 cup unsweetened coconut water
1 cup frozen pineapple
¼ avocado
Apple-Lemon Smoothie
A green smoothie.
2 apples
1/2 lemon, juiced
2 cups fresh baby spinach (or other leafy green)
