Pendulum Hotel part of historic St John’s Ambulance training programme

Pendulum Hotel and Conference Centre were chuffed to receive a thank you letter this week from St John’s Ambulance, acknowledging its incredible support for the training of thousands of volunteers for the COVID vaccinator programme.

According to Richard Lee, Chief Operating Officer of St John’s Ambulance, the programme was the largest training programme and deployment of St John resources in their history, even bigger than any wartime effort or major incident.

Pendulum Hotel General Manager Simon Mason says he is proud that he and his staff could play a small part in such a huge initiative. ‘St Johns Ambulance booked our largest rooms for 4 weeks and sent 100 volunteers a day to us for training. It made our day to receive the letter acknowledging the contribution we’d made to the programme.”

St John’s volunteers received training on how to administer the vaccines, as well as refreshers in general first aid, before working at the mass coronavirus vaccination centre at the Etihad Tennis Centre to vaccinate the people of Manchester.

Pendulum Hotel and Conference Centre is located in the heart of Manchester only a minute’s walk from Manchester Piccadilly station. It has 15 conference suites and meeting spaces for up to 280 people.

Isn't it amazing the technology that's being used these days in training.
