Things To Do This Bank Holiday

Things To Do This Bank Holiday

There's nothing like a bank holiday to lift the spirits and help you recharge – but they do have a knack of creeping up on you. Not made any plans yet. We're here to help. From windswept walks on beaches that are beautiful come hail or heatwave to something more cultural, these are our favourite things to do on a bank holiday break.

1. Take A Trip To The Seaside

If the weather is on your side, a trip to a sandy beach should be at the top of your to-do list. A visit to a seaside town offers more going on away from its lovely shoreline and it's well worth a stroll around, even on overcast days. Don't forget to enjoy some seaside fair, will you be tempted by the fish and chips, a pasty, ice cream or cockles?

Our hotels near the seaside:
East Sussex National Resort, East Sussex, Holiday Inn Maidstone, Kent and Broome Park Hotel, Kent

2. Explore A Maze

Get lost, have fun and try and find your way out if you can. There are a number of Maze's you can visit around the UK from the hedge mazes at Blenheim Palace, Hampton Court and Longleat , to the maize mazes at Great Worcester Maize Maze, Wistow Maze, York Maize and The Cornish Maize Maze.

Holiday Inn Maidstone, Hunton Park Hotel, Whately Hall Hotel, and Quorn Country Hotel

3. Get Away From Everything

International travel is still off the cards for many, but it’s now possible to move between England, Scotland and Wales, which means it’s the perfect time to explore what’s on our doorstep and take a staycation. For last minute breaks at our hotels please visit our website here.

4. Take A City Tour

We’ve all become used to walking during the pandemic, so make the most of it and stretch your legs a little further by travelling to a new city and joining a free group-walking tour. Check out these free walking tours in Manchester if you need a place to stay, our Pendulum Hotel is in central Manchester.

5. See A Film

Cinemas are now open again or if you fancy something a bit different try a drive in cinema. You can throw it back to the 1950's at Tulley's Drive In Cinema in West Sussex or enjoy a truly authentic American style experience at Woodside Drive In at Merseyside.

East Sussex National, Holiday Inn Maidstone, Goldthorn Hotel, Park Hall Hotel & Spa

6. Brush Up On Your Culture

Museums and galleries have now reopened and for those of us who've missed it, why not head to an exhibition for a culture fix. Museums are not only educational but they are also fun and will keep the children entertained.
